“September 27th
My wishes on a million twinkling stars come true today.”
*sniffs* That is the most touching ending for Mia & Schooner. I absolutely love every page of it. It was not as drama filled unlike the first two books, it was light and the message of family was the main point, and in made up for all the drama that wasn't in the story. I cried tears of joy and I was also so touched by a lot if parts. Mia & Schooner knows how to make me cry and swoon at the same time. They really are one soul in two bodies.
“Moving his cheek against hers he took a few deep breaths filling his lungs up with the cool night air and whispered, “I promise I’ll love you forever.”
“That’s not long enough,” she whispered back, holding his head against her tight.
“God, you’re a greedy little thing,” he was smiling into her ear.
“Yes, I am. And I want you to love me for more than forever.”
“It’s a deal, Baby Girl.”
The beginning scared me at first, I thought Mia & Schooner won't make up but given the blessing of a little baby, I knew that they would not let the option of not being a family happen.
I also love the part wherein they paid tribute to Michael. It brought tears to my eyes. From Mia opening up to Schooner in Zambia up until they were at the 9/11 memorial.
Witnessing how their family grew and be surrounded by a lot of people who support them, it was very heart warming. How I wish soon I'll also meet my own Schooner Moore and be surrounded by friends that treat me like family.
“There are some things I never forget.”
The look in his eyes was melting her, “Oh really, what else haven’t you forgotten.”
“A promise I made to myself when you were just sixteen.”
Reaching out to lay a hand on his cheek, “And what was that promise?” she whispered.
With a look that summed up twenty-five years of love, heartbreak, loss and utter bliss, as he carried her over the threshold onto their boat, he whispered back, “Your first and your last, Baby Girl. Your first and your last.”
Zac and Lily though, I can't help but feel that there would be a story there soon. If ever there will be, I'll be waiting! I think Seth or CJ deserves a story or a novella. Either way, I know that Julie A. Richman has now climbed up to my favorite authors list.
5 SMOOCHAL STARS!!!
